with Gerry Hassan

This series of events explored our contemporary cultural context in Scotland and beyond through provocation, debate and discussion.

Kicking off in Dundee, GSA academic Ambrose Gillick and renowned authors James Robertson, Kapka Kassabova and Madeleine Bunting explored who was missing within cultural discussions in Scotland. The second event in Glasgow saw architect Jude Barber, poet Harry Giles, DJ and club promoter Sarra Wild, columnist Andrew Tickell and critic Joyce McMillan discussed how to navigate and nurture contemporary culture in an age of rage. Finally we gathered at Custom Lane in Edinburgh to debate culture in discomforting times. with historian and author Neal Ascherson, playwright David Greig, artist Janie Nicoll, theatremaker Robert Softley Gale with chair, Joyce McMillan.
