With Fraser Croall Studio and Hans Klammer for the Architecture Fringe
For the first time we commissioned a festival trailer to help launch the Architecture Fringe programme. Something I had wanted to do for some time, I approached animator Fraser Croall and musicians Hans Klammer to develop the film and soundtrack respectively.
Seeking something which was buoyant, engaging and informative my role here centred on creative direction. The first thing under consideration was the time-length of the trailer and the beat of the soundtrack. Setting the pace of the film, I commissioned Calum Ross and Andy Hodgkinson of Hans Klammer to provide a soundtrack that was joyful, euphoric and which increased in scale.
Working closely with Fraser Croall, I produced a storyboard for the film setting the copy for each section, this included projects, events, billing, dates and locations. To help set the look that we were after, I produced a number of look boards exploring how we could navigate through and occupy the identity for the Architecture Fringe 2019, which was designed by fellow festival co-producer Neil McGuire.
